Apache Junction’s drug-prevention coalition, StandUp AJ, has received a nine-month $96,594 state opioid response grant that includes mentoring from Tempe coalition members.
The overarching goal of the state’s opioid response project is to increase access to opioid use disorder treatment, coordinated and integrated care, recovery support services and prevention activities to reduce the prevalence of opioid use and opioid-related overdose deaths, according to the Arizona Governor’s Office of Youth, Faith and Family’s website.
The Tempe Coalition to Reduce Underage Drinking and Drug Use has agreed to provide StandUp AJ with coaching, training and support with the goal of having StandUp AJ ready to provide substance misuse prevention programs for Apache Junction by the end of September 2021.
