As the pandemic left financial struggles, Valley theaters receive grants, other funds

Across the Valley, local theaters have been given grants and funds worth a total of $5 millions to support arts at a time when they are desperately needed.

The Arizona Commission on the Arts awarded more than 360 grants of various amounts to theaters in the Valley and statewide in an effort to help theaters continue to thrive and support there local communities.

One of these theaters, the nonprofit Spotlight Youth Theatre in Glendale, was awarded $21,350 to aid in continuing its operation. Which is to give children and teens the opportunity to sharpen there performing arts skills and give them a spotlight.
