Salt River Project’s directors will conduct the third of four special meetings Tuesday to learn more about the SRP’s pricing increase proposal.
The board of directors also will have an evening session to hear public comment.
The proposal seeks an overall 2.4 percent price increase, reflecting a proposed increase of $169.1 million in base revenue to support upgrades to the power system and an anticipated decrease of $68.7 million in fuel and purchased power revenues, according to an SRP release.
If approved by SRP’s directors, who are elected, the average residential customer using 1,117 kilowatt-hours a month will see a monthly bill increase of 3.5 percent, or $5.61, effective with the November billing cycle, the release stated.
The SRP board of directors meeting will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, at the utility company’s administrative building, 1500 N. Mill Ave., Tempe. It will be followed by a public comment session at 5:30 p.m.
Those who want to speak at the latter session need to sign up by 6 p.m., according to SRP. Those who attend must present a valid state ID and check in at the SRP security desk.
