Ferguson Enterprises LLC and Rotor X Aircraft Manufacturing, both in Chandler have been recognized by Salt River Project as Champions of Sustainability.

The award honors “outstanding achievements in electrification, energy efficiency and clean energy through participation in SRP’s Business Solutions Program,” according to a release.

Ferguson is the largest U.S. distributor of plumbing supplies, PVF, waterworks and fire and fabrication products, the release stated. It also is a distributor of HVAC equipment and industrial products and services.

The company recently opened “a new energy-efficient distribution center in Chandler that also has nearly one megawatt of solar,” the release stated.

For more than 50 years, according to the SRP release, Rotor X Aircraft Manufacturing Co. “has produced the world's most affordable and reliable two-seat personal kit-built helicopters.

“The company undertook a comprehensive energy-efficiency upgrade at their west Chandler manufacturing facility – implementing LED fixtures and smart thermostats.”

"SRP is proud to partner with our commercial customers to help them achieve their sustainability goals through energy efficiency and electrification," Rudy Navarro, SRP interim associate general manager and chief customer executive, said.

“These sustainability efforts not only benefit the business, but their customers and the greater Phoenix community as well."

The award winners were recognized recently at the 10th Annual Champions of Sustainability Awards luncheon at the Arizona Biltmore.
