SRP board approves 3% summer rate decrease

The Salt River Project Board of Directors on Thursday approved a temporary overall 3% summer price decrease.

The decrease, which is effective with the May through October billing cycles, is funded through a reduction in the Teme-based utility’s Fuel and Purchased Power Adjustment Mechanism.

The average residential customer will experience a monthly bill decrease of $5.57 during the reduction period, depending on electric use and price plan, according to an SRP release.
