Gallery Andrea is offering new spring exhibitions: Spring Wildflowers of Arizona by international artist Andrea de Kerpely-Zak, and Spring Landscapes of Arizona by Rusty Walker and Collin Fry.

Kerpely-Zak ia a Hungarian-born artist who’s internationally known for painting the wildflowers of Arizona such as African Daisies and Mexican Gold Poppies. Her paintings are published with Georgia O’Keeffe and featured in “Arizona Highways.” Two of her paintings were commissioned for the likes of Pope John Paul II.

Walker and Fry were both part of the United States Air Force.

After graduation from Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia, Walker joined the Air Force during Vietnam years. He was an artist and illustrator for Commander in Chief of Strategic Air Command, Offutt Air Force Base, Data Systems Center from 1967–71. Then he worked as a fine artist in San Francisco, Calif. and Arizona, working with Southwestern watercolors and oils.

Fry had an early start as a technical artist in the Air Force. He studied at The American Academy of Art and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, painting during a career in Chicago, Ill. as an illustrator, graphic designer and art director.

During retirement, Fry turned to full-time pastel and oil work. Attending IAPS conventions and taking workshops with masters like Doug Dawson, Frank Federico and Gil Dellinger inspired him, and he found plein air painting in Arizona, Michigan, New Mexico, France and Italy to be a great experience. His work has been featured in “American Artist” and “The Pastel Journal.”

He has taught many workshops and programs, and authored over 20 feature articles for art magazines. He is a charter member of the Great Lakes Pastel Society, and signature member of The Pastel Society of New Mexico and Arizona Pastel Artists. His paintings are in many private and commercial collections.
