The next general meeting of the Sportsman’s Club of Sun City West is at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 19 in the R.H. Johnson Social Hall, 19803 N. R.H. Johnson Blvd.

Following a short business meeting will be this month’s speakers, Matthew Eberhart and Neil Large from Arizona Parks and Trails, who will inform members about outdoor opportunities in the Arizona State Parks system. The Arizona State Parks and Trails agency won the gold medal awarded by the National Recreation and Parks Association for being the best-managed state park system in the United States.

Tickets will also be available at the meeting for the Spring Social at Palm Ridge on Saturday, April 7. The cost is $15 for members and $20 for guests. Bring cash or checks.

This club offers SCW men and women a multitude of outdoor Arizona activities. These include big wheels (off road vehicles), fishing, GEOcaching, hiking, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, target shooting, and travel ("Adventures with Marilynn"). Information about these activities is available at sportsman.scwclubs.com, under "Activities."

Come participate in activities designed to feel more connected to Sun City West and Arizona and to teach about area history, geology, geography, flora and fauna. These activities are also a way to help maintain the body and brain’s health.
