Diana Taurasi isn’t done rewriting the record books.
The 39-year-old WNBA all-time leading scorer set new Mercury franchise playoff records with 37 points and eight made 3s, leading a surging Phoenix offense to a 117-91 win Thursday in Las Vegas to even the semifinal series against the Aces 1-1.
If Taurasi’s lingering ankle sprain that limited her in her first two games back was still hurting her, it didn’t show. Mercury coach Sandy Brondello underlined how impressive Taurasi’s 37-point performance was considering she hasn’t practiced since the injury on Sept. 6.
