Special election: Scottsdale voters to decide fate of general plan 2035

Watch your mailboxes in the coming weeks, Scottsdale — a November 2021 special election ballot will soon be mailed and there’s a very important question that needs your answer.

The Scottsdale General Plan Update 2035 is on the ballot for voter approval in the city’s Tuesday, Nov. 2, special election. Officially, the ballot question is called Prop. 463, which asks voters to consider whether to ratify or not ratify the general plan update.

“We need to pass the general plan so that we’ll have an agreed framework for the future of Scottsdale,” Councilman Tom Durham said of the election. “I think it’s balance between growth — some growth — and maintaining the character of Scottsdale.”
