Speak Up: ADOT advises drivers to plan for I-17 closure Feb. 7-10

The Arizona Department of Transportation has scheduled four weekend closures of I-17 in north Phoenix for final bridge and pavement, beginning Feb. 7 and running through March 3. ADOT advised in a release that drivers should avoid using local streets east of I-17 that are not designed to handle freeway traffic.
“Too bad ADOT can’t leave one lane open north and southbound during the projects. This would eliminate the nightmare created by taking traffic through residential neighborhoods last time. Unfortunately, our comments fall on deaf ears.” — Benjamin Filer via email
