Scottsdale PD uses over 20 different drones to fight crime

The Scottsdale Police Department has been using drones to fight crime since 2015. The DJI Mavic 3T model, used in patrol units can retail for more than $6,000.

Harpreet Singh, 32, remains in the Maricopa County Jail on charges of theft-control of stolen property, burglary - possession of tools and burglary third degree unlawful entry after Scottsdale police arrested him on Jan. 7 for suspicion of breaking into the American Fine Art gallery on North Scottsdale Road.

Officers responded to the call after an employee reported hearing someone inside the gallery.

A perimeter was set up, but officers found no one in the gallery so they deployed a drone.
