Sparkler is safe and napping after July Fourth freeway rescue in Mesa

The Arizona Department of Transportation spotted a dog walking Tuesday morning along U.S. 60 in Mesa.

ADOT officials said “Sparkler – or, Sparky for short” was taken to safety by Arizona Department of Public Safety service units.

As of Tuesday afternoon, ADOT reported “she’s doing very well – and taking a nap.”
