Southwest Valley school district continues to increase safety in schools

The Agua Fria Union High School District has been working with community, families, faculty and law enforcement to increase security and safety measures for all five high schools across Avondale, Buckeye, Goodyear, Waddell and Litchfield.

In a district board meeting decision made last year, the district planned to invest $575,000 to hire security guards inside of schools and outside security by this summer.

As of fall 2022, the district hired a school resource officer at Canyon View High School and that success brought its five campuses a dedicated SRO.
