A 23-year-old man is dead following a Friday collision between a motorcycle and another vehicle, Phoenix police said.
Detectives are investigating the crash that happened about noon Oct. 13 near 16th Street and Broadway Road and said speeding may have been a factor in the collision.
Police said they found the motorcyclist, Armando Berumen Jr., 23, at the crash scene with serious injuries, and he was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Two men in the other vehicle were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Preliminary information suggests that Berumen Jr. was traveling southbound on 16th Street when the other vehicle involved made a left turn onto Broadway Road, and the crash occurred.
Impairment is not believed to be a factor; however, speed is considered to be a factor in the collision. All other details about what led up to the collision will be determined through the accident reconstruction process, authorities said.
