Sonoran Sounds perform at church

The Sonoran Sounds Women’s Chorale of the West Valley will perform a variety of musical selections at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 19 the United Church of Sun City, 11250 N. 107th Ave., Sun City.

Under the direction of Ms. Sun Joo Lee and accompanied by Ms. Mina DeWitt, they will perform inspirational, Broadway and popular tunes such as “Ave Maria,” “Memory,” “You Raise Me Up” and “Dancing Queen.”

There will be a freewill offering. This concert is open to the public.

Sonoran Sounds Women’s Chorale of the West Valley are performing their 11th season under the direction of Ms. Sun Joo Lee. Public and private concerts have been scheduled and will include the music of well-known classics along with favorite tunes from Broadway Musicals. Singing “for the love of it” many of the women have enjoyed membership for the past 11 years.

Women who are interested in becoming members of this talented and accomplished women’s chorale may contact, the group’s president Joyce Bowlby at joyce.bowlby@hotmail.com to schedule an audition. You may also visit a practice session held at Sun City West Christian Church located at 151st and RH Johnson Blvd., in Sun City West. The group practices every Monday morning from 9 a.m. until noon.
