Sonora Quest Laboratories, an Arizona diagnostic laboratory, has launched a new, convenient at-home male fertility test available without a doctor’s order or insurance through My Lab ReQuest.
One in three fertility challenges is caused by male factors, and sperm quality is critical to successful conception, a press release stated.
The at-home male fertility test delivers comprehensive results by analyzing five key factors, including sperm count, movement and more in less than 30 minutes. With 97% accuracy and FDA approval, the test offers a reliable and convenient way to assess male fertility, according to the release.
A detailed summary of results, personalized recommendations and resources will be available in the fertility test’s app. Patients can also access a PDF report and a live video of the sample, making it easy to share with a physician or keep private for personal reference. A smartphone or computer is required to complete the test and view results.
Tom Leggett, senior director of business development at Sonora Quest, said in the release that this test allows people to learn more about their sperm quickly and easily from the comfort of their homes.
“Whether or not you and your partner are currently planning or trying to conceive, understanding your sperm quality is an indicator of your overall health and wellness,” Leggett said.
Some men are more likely to experience infertility than others. Infertility may be more likely if the patient is overweight, 40 years or older, uses tobacco, marijuana, or alcohol, has taken or been exposed to testosterone and more, the release detailed.
Not intended for post-vasectomy testing, the at-home male fertility test should be used for patients who have struggled to conceive for more than a year or have known health issues such as diabetes, hormone imbalances or autoimmune diseases.
Sonora Quest offers free shipping on kits purchased through MyLabReQuest.com. After the kit order is processed, it takes approximately 3-5 business days to arrive at the shipping address provided at checkout.
