Some Scottsdale Unified board members want bathroom policy

Proposed policy would allow students to use single-person bathrooms

Bathrooms are the next battleground for members of the Scottsdale Unified School District Governing Board.

Board vice president Carine Werner introduced a proposed policy change during the board’s Oct. 2 meeting that would allow any student in the district to request the use of a single-person bathroom.

The proposed change was supported by board member Amy Carney but opposed by board president Julie Cieniawski and board member Dr. Libby Hart-Wells.
