Some free speech events in Surprise will need permits

Signups needed for planned political masses over 50 people

Planned events for political speech will need a permit to gather in Surprise if the group is at least 50 people.

That’s the compromise the Surprise City Council agreed on at its Jan. 19 meeting.

Individual gatherings for free speech on street corners will still be allowed without a permit, as long as its not blocking or hindering traffic.
