Efforts to get water flowing to the approximately 700 homes in the Rio Verde Foothills area that rely on hauled water are slow going.
Gov. Katie Hobbs signed a bill in June that created a standpipe district to serve the homes in the community northeast of Scottsdale from a standpipe owned by the city. The standpipe district's board of directors have been picked from community members who rely on hauled water; however, little more has been accomplished yet.
The board is set to have a 7 a.m. meeting Saturday, Aug. 12, at the Rural-Metro firehouse located at 16309 E. Rio Verde Drive, Scottsdale.
