Soccer duo develops quick chemistry on pitch in Peoria

Madeya, McIntosh form Sunrise Mountain’s engine

A Sunrise Mountain girls soccer team led by nine seniors receives a large chunk of its offense out of an attacking trio that never played together until this season.

Senior central midfielder Gracie Madeya played last year after transferring in from Northwest Christian and sitting out the first half of the 2022-23 season. But senior striker Lulu McIntosh tore her ACL and missed the whole season, and freshman striker Bella Arcadi was in elementary school.

This trio tops the 10-1 Mustangs in offense. McIntosh leads the team with 16 goals, Madeya paces the squad with 13 assists and Arcadi averages a team-high 1.6 goals per game.
