Smoke Tree Resort headed toward revitalization in Paradise Valley

Town approves minor special-use permit paving way for construction

The Paradise Valley planning commission unanimously approved a plan to allow for the revitalization of the Smoke Tree Resort on the eastern edge of town.

Scottsdale-based real estate investment firm Walton Global has plans to increase the room count from 82 to 95, and transform the site into a modern boutique resort.

While the footprint won’t change much, the application calls for more rooms, with minimum room sizes of 475 square feet, requiring the minor special-use permit.
