I was happy to see that Congress passed the bill to fix the surprise medical billing problem with the No Surprises Act.
Unfortunately, the Department of Health and Human Services drafted the rules around this bill leaving the doctors and other medical professionals holding the bag.

Letter by James Smith of Phoenix
I was happy to see that Congress passed the bill to fix the surprise medical billing problem with the No Surprises Act.
Unfortunately, the Department of Health and Human Services drafted the rules around this bill leaving the doctors and other medical professionals holding the bag.
Now that the courts have thrown out the rules for not following the intent of the law, our congressional delegation needs to tell the HHS and Secretary Becerra to write the rules to follow congress’s intent.
They have a chance now to get it right and protect patients and the front-line doctors and nurses, not the profits of the insurance companies.
