Smart phones, smart cars, smart appliances … and the latest member of the Internet of Things transforming daily life: Smart roadways.
County leaders approved measures this month to advance the Bell Road Communications Enhancement Project, an infrastructure upgrade for Bell Road along a corridor, which stretches from Peoria at the Loop 101, through the Sun Cities and into Surprise.
The upgrades will fix existing problems and lay the groundwork for future improvements, according to Bryan Pahia, a public information officer for the Maricopa County Department of Transportation.
