With the outcome of this national election, it appears that voters have expressed their opinion about the direction that America should be going.
Perhaps this will be the end of “drag queens” reading to kindergarten-age children. Maybe it will now be taught that there are only two human sexes, male and female.
I hope the notion that children should be counseled to believe that they are of the wrong sex will end forever. When such individuals are 18, they can do as they wish at their own expense with full knowledge of the consequences. Hardened criminals in prison that want a sex change procedure on the taxpayer dime will stay where they are as they are.
Maybe this will be the end of men being permitted to participate in women's sports. Of course, there is always choice; however, federal dollars might be withheld if such absurdity was permitted to continue.
Hopefully, the military will cease the woke nonsense that has created a desperate shortage of enlisted recruits and even a shortage of officer candidates in colleges and at our military academies.
I am hopeful that deficit spending on "The Green New Deal" and other waste of tax dollars that cause inflation will end.
Illegal migrants should turn themselves in immediately and be returned to their respective countries to be properly processed. The USA has always welcomed persons of good character to come to our country by legal means and have a chance to succeed at whatever craft or profession that they can do.
Vicious gang members that have infested many of our cities and terrorized law-abiding citizens should be immediately returned from whence they came.
The damage that has been done to financial and military stability over the past four years will take a decade of work and sacrifice to reverse. It will take some time for our allies to trust us and be certain of our policies.
Editor’s note: In December 2023, the U.S. Department of Defense attributed recruiting shortages to several factors, including a stronger economy, a smaller eligible population and decisions by members of Generation Z to follow traditional life and career paths.
