Sky Train extension, new Sky Harbor concourse on track to open next summer

Construction on the newest concourse at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and the extension connecting the Sky Train to the airport’s Rental Car Center are both on track to open next summer, airport staff told the Phoenix Aviation Advisory Board Tuesday.

Terminal 2 demolition is scheduled to be completed by December. The terminal’s parking garage will remain in operation, and the mural in the terminal has been removed and will be placed in the Rental Car Center by December.

The new concourse, the Terminal 4 South 1 concourse, is scheduled to open in early June 2022, said Candace Huff, acting deputy director of the Design and Construction Services Division of Phoenix’s Aviation Department.
