Siphon Fire near Apache Junction 65% contained

The Siphon Fire in the Superstition Wilderness northeast of Apache Junction has burned 15,527 acres with 65% containment, the U.S. Forest Service said Thursday.

The Siphon Fire is a human-caused fire currently under investigation. The estimated containment date is Sept. 30, it states at https://inciweb.wildfire.gov/incident-information/aztnf-siphon-fire

“The #SiphonFire containment increased to 65%. The fire remains at 15,527 acres. Crews continue to monitor, patrol and mop-up along the fire’s perimeter. Dry conditions along with mostly clear skies and below normal temperatures will prevail throughout the period. One engine is assigned to fire,” it states on the U.S. Forest Service — Tonto National Forest Facebook page @TontoNationalForest.
