Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema is taking a victory lap now that the massive $768 billion defense budget, which she supported, is law.
The annual budget, officially called the National Defense Authorization Act “was a big triumph for Arizona and our military posture,” Sinema told the Independent in a phone interview.
Sinema touted extra funding for military installations around the state, including Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson and Goldwater Air National Guard Base, where Sinema visited on Jan. 7 to meet with representatives from Arizona defense industry groups.
