A special use permit has been approved for a comprehensive sign plan for an industrial development east of Sossaman Road and north of Elliot Road in Mesa.
The Mesa Board of Adjustment on Oct. 5 voted 4-0 to approve the permit for property in the light industrial zoning district as part of a consent agenda with other items. Board members Adam Gunderson, Chris Jones and Heath Reed were absent.
Per the city’s zoning ordinance, the maximum aggregate sign area for front building occupancies between 81 to 199 feet is 160 square feet. The applicant is requesting to increase the maximum aggregate sign area from the 160 square feet to 240 square feet, which will allow for a third tenant sign on Building 1, Staff Planner Sean Pesek said in a written staff report.
