A permit has been approved for a comprehensive sign plan for an industrial development west of Ellsworth Road on the north side of Elliot Road in Mesa.
The Mesa Board of Adjustment on Oct. 5 voted 4-0 to approve the special use permit for the development in a light industrial zoning district with a planned area development overlay as part of a consent agenda with other items. Board members Adam Gunderson, Chris Jones and Heath Reed were absent.
For signs attached to a single tenant space of a multiple tenant building, the attached sign shall not exceed more than 75% of the width of the front of the occupancy upon which the attached sign is placed, according to the city’s zoning ordinance. The applicant is requesting a modification to allow attached signs for single tenants to not exceed more than 80% of the width of the front of the occupancy upon which the attached sign is placed, Staff Planner Cassidy Welch said in a written staff report.
