Short-term rental work not finished at Paradise Valley Town Hall

Short-term rental reform may not have been achieved this legislative session, but the Paradise Valley reputation has illuminated by virtue of the small but mighty community’s presence at Arizona’s state capitol.

“I think the town punched way above its weight in this legislative session and I characterize this session as ‘very successful’ for what we gained in credibility and power in the whole state,” said Town Manager Jill Keimach during a May 13 meeting.

“We are a very small community, and we were listened to immensely. They were talking about carving out Paradise Valley separate from the rest of the state — and that’s why we also have to be careful how we describe this. For Paradise Valley, it is party house reform. But for Flagstaff, Sedona, it’s taking away affordable housing.”
