Shirley Mae Gordon, Age 88, of Sun City West, Arizona and formerly of Denver, Colorado, passed away on December 9, 2024 at Hospice of the Valley in Surprise Arizona following a brief illness.
Shirley was born September 16th, 1936 in Boone, Iowa. She graduated from high school in 1954 and married her beloved Ed in 1957.
Shirley worked as an AT & T operator following her marriage to Ed and also spent many years as a homemaker. Later in life her and Ed founded High Plains Transportation which they owned and operated for many years. Shirley was an avid quilter and enjoyed making the quilts and gifting them to friends and family. This hobby allowed Shirley to leave loved ones with lasting memories of the love, time and energy she put into making them.
Shirley was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lakewood, Colorado. Remaining to cherish Shirley’s memory is son, Edward L. Gordon, Jr., sister, Diana Tuttle, nieces Sherry Miller and Lisa Jolley and nephew Bret Eastberg..
Preceding Shirley in death are Edward L. Gordon, Sr.; grandson, Edward L. Gordon, III; and parents Roy and Clarice Caywood.
A memorial service will be held in the spring in Lakewood, Colorado.
