Shirley J Palik Trapp, originally of Colorado, passed away peacefully on February 8th in Sun City, AZ. Shirley was born in Denver, CO on March 12, 1939 to Adalena Toof and Donald Palik.
Shirley served in the Air Force where she met the love of her life. She was married in 1959 at age 20, and as a military wife did some travelling around the world. Shirley’s life was dedicated to supporting her family and community. This was reflected wherever “home” happened to be, as she ran her own home business so that she could spend time raising her children and staying connected and active in her community. Her connection to people was proven every time she went somewhere – she either ran into someone she knew or made a new friend.
Shirley was an avid bowler, and a champion table tennis player. She enjoyed these sports until her passing. In addition to sports activities, Shirley had two other passions. Her first was joining the Sun City Players Community Theater where she worked all aspects of theater production, including earning a leading role in a production. Her other passion was crafting. If you know Shirley, you have probably been gifted with one of the many crafts that she was so talented at creating.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 62 years, Donald Trapp, her five children Kevin, Sandra, Sharon, Susan and Sylvia, 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and her 3 siblings.
Shirley’s facebook page will remain open, and all are welcome to post memories and final words to her there.
