A shelter-in-place was initiated at Sunset Heights Elementary School Jan. 24 when a student required medical attention.
In a letter sent to Sunset Heights families, an official said emergency response vehicles were called to the school to offer assistance, and as a result, a brief shelter-in-place was implemented to minimize exposure to the student and to ensure they received swift medical care.
"Those who live within our community may have seen medical personnel driving to or arriving on campus," the letter said. "Our staff did an exceptional job for our student with the medical need, and we are hoping for a swift recovery."
