On Sept. 18, 2016, Sharon Louise Turner, passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family. Sharon would have celebrated her 70th birthday on Sept. 27th. Sharon was born in Williamsport, IN. to parents, Ethel Louise Butcher and Donald Frederick White. On June 5, 1964, Sharon married Michael Raymond Turner and started her life journey as a military wife, mother, grandmother and nurse. Sharon held many volunteer positions throughout the years, including hostess at the Tucson International Airport USO, Cub Scout Den Leader, Sunday school teacher, and assisted with many fund raisers for MS, Diabetes, and Breast Cancer awareness. In 1979 Sharon graduated from Yuba College in Marysville, Calif., with her Associates in Nursing. After Michael's retirement in 1980 from the U.S.A.F. and returning to Arizona, Sharon continued her nursing career for the next three decades. Sharon was an active member of VFW Post 7968 in Apache Junction where she held the position of Guard. Sharon's passion was her family, her many friends through the VFW, church and dancing. Sharon is survived by her three children, Teresa Bennett, Michael E. Turner (Tamara), Angela Perry (Ron); nine grandchildren, Jason Bennett (Lauren), Michael Hutto (Tyler), Justin Bennett, Travis Turner, Cory Turner, Mathew Turner, RJ Perry, Spencer Perry, Tyler Perry; and three great-grandchildren, Riley, Collin and Kash Bennett, Father; Donald F. White; sisters, Linda Mann (Jerry), Kathy Sipes; and two nephews, Pat Mann (Cheli) and Jonathon Sipes (Dustin). Visitation services for Sharon are being held at Queen of Heaven Mortuary in Mesa on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016 from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. Mass services will be at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, also in Mesa, on Monday, Sept. 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Sharon's final resting place will be at the Veteran's National Cemetery in Phoenix.
