Sharon Irene Lindsay Roch Eppinga

Posted
SUN CITY WEST - Sharon Irene Lindsay Roch Eppinga, world traveler, hostess extraordinaire, and quite a looker, passed away peacefully in the wee hours of June 15, 2016, just a few days shy of her 74th birthday. Although she died too young from complications from COPD and CHF, she lived life to the fullest and was always up for a soiree. She was a great, but very slow, cook, a big hit in the "noodle lane" at the pool, and always had time for friends and family. At the time of her death, Sharon resided in Sun City West, Ariz. in the cutest, most colorful house ever, and she really loved it. She never forgot her South Shore roots from growing up in Chicago though, even as life took her to Milwaukee, N.J., Atlanta, Denver, and Idaho Springs, Colo. It was in Idaho Springs that she met her 2nd husband, and love of her life, Dan Eppinga, who predeceased her by 5 years. They subsequently moved to St. Charles, Ill, and Two Rivers, Wis. Sharon is survived by her only daughter, Lauren (Tim) Guydan; a happy result of Sharon's first marriage to Robert Roch, her high-school sweetheart. She also had 1 granddaughter, Jane; with whom she patiently spent many hours creating elaborate art projects. Sharon had 1 surviving sister, Deborah Martin, also from Ariz; and she was so happy to be near her in her later years. She was predeceased by 2 sisters, Susan (Ron) Steel, and Janie Lindsay; and her mother and stepfather, Irene & Ray Stymacks; and her father, William Lindsay. If you would like to honor Sharon's life, donations in her name can be made to Hospice of the Valley, whose staff took such amazing care of her as she neared her end. Checks can be mailed to HOV, 1510 E. Flower St, Phoenix, AZ 85014, and other forms of payment can be accepted at www.hov.org, or by calling 602-530-6992. Interment at Lincoln VA Cemetery in Illinois will be held at a later date.
