Shake Shack employee arrested on charges of armed robber, aggravated assault and kidnapping

An employee of the Shake Shack in the Kierland Commons shopping center has been arrested for allegedly calling in sick for a shift Aug. 3, then robbing the place at gun point  later that morning.

Keondre Simmons, 33,  is being held on a $100,000 bond in the Maricopa County Jail on charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault and kidnapping.

The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. when an employee heard the delivery door bell ring and opened the door, according to court documents. That’s when a masked gunman forced his way inside and locked the employee in a walk in cooler using a device that only an employee would know about, according to court reports.
