That quote from Walt Disney was on the slideshow Phoenix Deputy Streets Transportation Director Chris Ewell was presenting to the city’s Trees and Shade Subcommittee last week. Ewell said the quote came a placeholder on the slideshow software he was using, and he thought it was appropriate for the discussion.
Phoenix staff and committees have discussed adding Cool Corridors throughout the city for several months. The concept is to plant trees or occasionally install other shade structures to create a canopy above heavily walked areas, delivering some respite from the Phoenix heat.
