A 63-year-old man has been sentenced to 334 years in prison for sexually abusing and molesting children in Peoria, authorities said Monday.

A jury convicted Mark Alan Rodman in August on two counts of child molestation and 15 counts of sexual conduct with a minor, according to a release from the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.

Rodman was sentenced to 17 years for each count of molestation of a child and 20 years for each count of sexual conduct with a minor.

In April 2021, two of Rodman’s family members disclosed that he had molested them multiple times from 2011 to 2014 when they were around 7 and 11 years old.

Another family member came forward after their initial report and reported that Rodman had sexually abused him, starting in 1995 when he was 11 years old. That continued through 1999, the release stated.

“It takes an extraordinary amount of courage to speak up against an abuser, especially one who was meant to protect you,” Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell said.

“I commend the survivors for their bravery, and the prosecutors who worked on this case for achieving justice. May this moment be the first step in their journey toward healing.”
