Sewer line project much bigger than planned

What was originally a $12 million sewer project north of the Central Arizona Project canal and south of Loop 101 between Pima Road and Scottsdale Road in 2021 has turned into a $67.9 million project today.

Council member Barry Graham pointed out that’s a 550% increase during Scottsdale Water Resources Executive Director Brian Biesemeyer’s explanation for the mammoth cost increase to the city council during its May 21 meeting.
