The Apache Junction Unified School District Governing Board approved a severance agreement with superintendent Dr. Krista Anderson effective June 30 during a short public meeting on April 1.
As part of a transition plan, Dr. Anderson has agreed to be a consultant for Heather Wallace, the district’s executive director of educational services, for the remainder of the school year, according to a letter sent to district employees and parents.
The severance agreement, signed April 1 by Dr. Anderson and Governing Board President Dena Kimble, states “Superintendent will be on an authorized, voluntary leave of absence with her regular pay and benefits pending the effective date of her resignation.”
