Seniors find financial help through northwest Valley groups amid economic struggles

Organizations offer assistance to those who qualify

Groups helping Sun Citians are seeing an uptick in the number of people seeking help, whether thats accsing a local food pantry or getting help with bills.

On average, 100 individuals are visiting the Banner Olive Branch Senior Center in Sun City to eat a free meal. The suggested $5 donation is likely the least expensive option to have a nutritious meal and socialize with others, local officials said.

But there's more to the services the senior center and others are offering. Julie Ash, community outreach representative with the senior center, said with increasing prices, the number of people eating at the center  increases.
