Seniors can look to banking institution for help

Avoid fraudulent activity

Senior fraud continues to be problematic for residents in the Sun Cities. According to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office website, several scams seek to take advantage of seniors using believable tactics.

In 2019, more than 25,000 people reported losing a combined $201 million to romance scams with the average victim losing $2,600. Those over the age of 70, however, reported losing an average of $10,000 or more, according to the website.

Local banking institutions are not only keeping individuals’ money safe, but also working as advocates for the most vulnerable.
