Senator, Scottsdale teacher announces cancer diagnosis

Support pours in for Christine Marsh

Scottsdale felt a collective sting to the heart Aug. 12 when Sen. Christine Marsh announced in a social media post she had been diagnosed with cancer.

“Following a routine cancer screening, I got a call from a doctor telling me I have cancer,” Marsh wrote in a Facebook post on her official Christine Porter Marsh for Arizona page.

Prior to running for public office, Marsh, an English teacher, was named Arizona’s teacher of the year in 2016.
