With high school and college graduation season upon the region, a new report tabs some Valley cities as the better options for starting a career.
While the Valley isn't Austin or Salt Lake City or even Pittsburgh, according to a new WalletHub report, one Valley city made the top 25 with a few others lurking close behind.
Scottsdale was deemed the best place in the region to start a career, ranking at No. 23 on the list. Tempe was close behind at No. 26, with Phoenix at No. 31.

While the Valley isn't Austin or Salt Lake City or even Pittsburgh, according to a new WalletHub report, one Valley city made the top 25 with a few others lurking close behind.
Scottsdale was deemed the best place in the region to start a career, ranking at No. 23 on the list. Tempe was close behind at No. 26, with Phoenix at No. 31.
The WalletHub report ranked the 180 largest cities in the U.S. based on 25 metrics ranging from the availability of entry-level jobs to starting salaries and housing affordability.
“Transitioning out of school and into the workforce can be a difficult and stressful process, but certain cities make things a lot easier than others," said WalletHub analyst Chip Lupo on the company's post regarding the rankings. "The best cities for starting a career not only have a lot of job opportunities but also provide substantial income growth potential and satisfying work conditions. It’s also important to consider factors such as how fun a city is to live in or how good of a place it is for raising a family, to ensure life satisfaction outside of your career.”
