Public Art

See the artwork coming to Dobbins Road in Phoenix

Dobbins Road is planned to receive four new pieces of public art that are perceptual sculptures, meaning they transition from one image into another as the viewer moves to a new vantage point.

“It’s a single form that holds two narratives, revealed through movement,” said local artist Daniel Nez, one of the two artists on the project, during a Phoenix Street Transportation public meeting on Wednesday.

The artwork is being built alongside street improvements on Dobbins Road between Loop 202 and 27th Avenue. Street Transportation staff said they are still in the early design stages of the project and not yet announcing an expected completion date.
