Sections of SR 51, Loops 101, 202 close Friday night for weekend work

PHOENIX – Three freeway closures for improvement projects are scheduled in the Valley this weekend, and state transportation officials advise drivers to expect detours and allow for extra travel time.

Here is what drivers can expect from Friday night, April 24, until Monday morning, April 27:

Northbound State Route 51 will be closed between Indian School Road and Glendale Avenue from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for asphalt removal as part of pavement improvement project.
