About three months after service was restored to homes relying on hauled water in the Rio Verde Foothills, the whole situation almost reverted back into a crisis.
The Rio Verde Foothills Standpipe district made a late payment to the City of Scottsdale to treat the water the district buys from the private water company EPCOR.
That led to the city preparing to send a notice of termination today for non-payment today, January 3, before payment arrived about an hour before the termination notice was to go out today, according to an email from Scottsdale Water Executive Director Brian Biesemeyer to the city council.
