The Scottsdale Police Department continues to search for Najib Monsif, an autistic 20-year-old Scottsdale resident, who was reported missing from his home on Sept. 23.

Monsif, who also goes by the nickname “Jubi,” was last seen on the evening of Wednesday, Sept. 22, in his neighborhood northeast of Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard and Via Linda.

Police officials say, during the initial investigation, searches included the neighborhood and surrounding areas including parks, shopping centers, the McDowell Mountain Preserve, canals and the places Monsif is known to frequent.

The family has launched a social media campaign to encourage local residents to keep an eye out for Monsif, and started a GoFundMe page.

Monsif is described as a middle eastern male, about 5-foot, 10-inches with a thin build and possibly wearing all black clothing. He can speak and is reported to have the mental capacity of an 8-year-old child.

He does not have his cell phone with him and does not drive. It is believed he left his home on foot.

According to the family’s GoFundMe page, Monsif walks with a distinct shuffle and frequently has his shirt covering his nose. If you see Najib, please stay with him and call 911 immediately.
