The Scottsdale City Council cut the admission rate to the new McCormick Stillman Railroad Park roundhouse play facility in half and it bled red all summer long, according to a memo by Scottsdale City Manager Greg Caton.
It was supposed to be a way to provide affordable family entertainment and introduce people to the 7,500-square-foot facility that opened in August 2025 and features a railroad-themed indoor play structure, public restrooms, offices, conference rooms and support spaces.
Scottsdale City Councilman Adam Kwasman moved during the council’s May 19 meeting to cut the fee to the facility from $6 per hour to $3 and not charge parents this summer.
