Scottsdale’s ISA challenges young minds with robotics

Scottsdale’s International School of Arizona’s new after-school robotics team coach Surya Prakash Salapathy is more than a little impressed with how advanced kids are today.

That’s in part because of how young these kids are starting off. He’s got kids as young as the third grade on his team.

“I’ll be very honest, I did not have a laptop or deal with robots when I was at this age but when I see these kids work with coding and how to program a motor, it sounds basic to me right now but I’m just fascinated (the kids are) at this age,” Salapathy said. “It makes me be more ahead of the game so I can teach them how things are done.”
